Unanimous Support for Albert Island Development

Unanimous Support for Albert Island Development

London + Regional Properties Limited have secured unanimous support from the Newham Strategic Development Committee for the re-development of Albert Island. Albert Island is an exciting new industrial site, including a modern boatyard and marina, multi storey last-mile distribution warehousing and light industrial buildings, commercial long-term storage facilities, flatted factory typologies and a new HQ for the Royal Docks Management Authority. The plans also include the creation of sixteen homes, where over half of these will be available at affordable social rent. The scheme will see more than 500 jobs created during the construction phase and more than 1,200 permanent jobs introduced to the area.

Historically, Albert Island formed the river frontage of the King George V Dock, rethinking the site will create a sustainable waterside hub with a variety of uses and establish new links to connect the local community to the riverfront.

The Gleave Partnership team have significant experience in mixed use and industrial development and are pleased to be retained as the Project Managers, Employer's Agent and Quantity Surveyors for the project. Through extensive programming, cost planning and value engineering, the project has been optimised to provide multi-level last mile delivery facilities to serve the London Boroughs.

The development is anticipated to start in 2022 and achieve Practical Completion in 2024.
