Welbeck College Commemoration Dinner
Welbeck College Commemoration Dinner
Gleave Partnership was honoured to sponsor the Welbeck College Commemoration Dinner to show our support and honour all the past pupils, teachers and staff at the Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College.
Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College
Welbeck College opened its doors in 1953 at Welbeck Abbey with a focus on teaching pupils science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in order to provide graduates who are then likely to go on and serve in the armed forces.Â
On March 11th 2019 it was announced in the House of Commons that Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College would be closed in 2021. It is the first step in the Governments closure of the Defence Technical Officer and Engineer Entry Scheme (DTOEES). The DTOEES will be replaced by a new STEM graduate scheme, unfortunately, Welbeck College did not fit in with the long-term plans. However, the grounds will be used for education, or possibly for future use by Defence says Defence Minister Earl Howe.
Our team had a wonderful time attending the event and chatting to former students and teachers, learning about the important role Welbeck College have had on their personal as well as professional lives.
At Gleave Partnership we are passionate about supporting and employing those who have served our country. We have several Armed Forces Veterans who are a valuable part of our team, it was therefore important for us to show our support to Welbeck College. We want to thank Mitch Mitchell, Jason Phillips and the team for letting us be a part of such an important event, they did a fantastic job in making it a memorable night for everyone involved.
