Help for Heroes

Every day, men and women have to leave their careers in the Armed Force as a result of physical and phycological wounds. Help for Heroes is a charity dedicated to helping them and those still serving recover. This charity is there to offer support to wounded veterans and their families as well as ease the challenging transition into civilian life. With almost no funding from the Government, Help for Heroes relies heavily on donations, partners and volunteers to keep doing their amazing work.

On the 26th of March six of our brave team members jumped 14,000ft out of a plane, including Director Steve Cox, Harriet Beesley, Elliott Farmer, Sandra Enersgaard, Angelo Scarpinato and Megan Jeffers all in support of the outstanding work Help for Heroes do for our veterans.

It could not have been a better day for our jumpers and the team cheering them on at Skydive Langar. The skies were blue, the sun was shining and all six jumpers made it safely down with a great story to tell!

At the time of writing, the team have raised an amazing £2,281 for Help for Heroes. However, there is still time to donate if you haven’t done so already! The donation link will be active until midnight Friday 1st April 2022. If you want to help support this great charity and our brave jumpers please click here. Donations of any size are positively welcomed and greatly appreciated by the team.

Here are a few ways the fundraising could help wounded veterans and their families:

£12 Helps organise a virtual meet up and gives veterans support, camaraderie and a listening ear.

£24 Pays for a veteran to have a chat with a member of the Welfare Team and get advice on issues like health, housing and their finances.

£52 Supports a veteran with their mental health by providing a one-hour consultation with a member of the Hidden Wounds Team.

£100 Pays for eight veterans to begin their recovery journeys by enrolling into the Recovery College.

We want to take a moment to thank the whole team for their support, our brave jumpers and all those who have supported this very important cause with us, we could not have done it without all of you! We also want to thank Help for Heroes for all the important work they do for our Veterans community, it is a clause that is close to many of us here at Gleave Partnership.
